Gina Parr is an Artist and Designer. She originally trained as a Fine Artist, and after graduating with a First Class Honours Degree, went on to Chelsea College of Art to study Design for Television. She has had solo shows in Exeter, Brighton and London and group shows in London and Milan. Her paintings are evocative semi-abstracts, typically featuring growth, apertures and openings. She combines both vibrant and muted colours, expressive bold gestural marks and allusive, poetic titles which lend her work psychological and physical complexity. Gina’s Production Set Design credits for stage, studio and location for BBC, Channel 4 and ITV span 27 years and include The Brit Awards, The Royal Variety Performance, Shooting Stars, Lesley Garrett in Concert, Goodness Gracious Me, Eastenders, Mercury Music Prize and major BBC Sports events in London, Berlin and Portugal. Over the years she has also continued to lecture and mentor in both Art and Design and Design for Television. Her paintings are in many private collections both nationally and internationally.
